Persona One [Potential Employer]
Sally is a recruiting manager from a locally based Web Design company. She is mid thirties and takes home in the region of 25 -30k a year. She surfs the web at work using a high speed broadband connection on a Windows PC with Internet Explorer. She has a couple of social network accounts but thinks uses her mobile mainly to contact friends.
75% of her time on the computer is spent sending and responding to emails about recruitment. The majority of her time out of work spent with her partner and going to meet her friends for a gossip. Sally has internet access at home and uses it to check her bank balance. Other than that she spends enough time on the internet at work.
Persona Two [Examining Body Worker]
Mike is a 45 year old married man working for an examining body for the HND Interactive Media course run by Wakefield College. He has two teenage children and enjoys walking his dog Rover. He doesn’t spend much time on the internet due to his job being mainly paper based.
He does use the internet at home to keep in touch with family members by email. Mike is actively seeking to improve his knowledge about things such as internet shopping but still thinks it’s a little un-secure with regards to his financial information. Mike has a family PC which runs Windows XP and runs Internet Explorer 7.
Persona Three [The FdA Student]
Barry is a 37 year old first year FdA Web Design student who as found it difficult to settle into the lifestyle of a mature student. Having had a steady job he took the plunge to give this up and become a student again.
Spending a lot of his free time on the Internet and having a little bit of a passion for being creative he enrolled on the course to see if he had what it takes to be a web designer. Barry owns an iMac and runs Mac OSX and browses the internet using the latest version of Firefox. Barry also likes to read about other technology and has a large number of unused gadget scattered about the house.
